Mandurah Courthouse is one of the busier regional courts in the Perth metropolitan fringe, serving a growing population in the Peel region. Located at 333 Pinjarra Road — opposite the Mandurah Forum Shopping Centre and adjacent to the Mandurah Police Station — the courthouse handles a substantial volume of criminal, traffic, civil, and family violence matters.
Jurisdiction and Case Types
The Mandurah Magistrates Court deals with adults charged with criminal offences arising from the Peel region and surrounding areas. Its criminal list includes summary offences, traffic matters, restraining order applications, and committal hearings for indictable offences. The court also runs specialist lists including a Family Violence List, where matters involving family and domestic violence are case-managed before a dedicated magistrate with a focus on both victim safety and addressing the underlying behaviour of the offender.
More serious indictable criminal matters — including serious assault, significant drug offences, sexual offences, burglary, and fraud — are committed from the Mandurah Magistrates Court to the District Court or Supreme Court for trial or sentencing.
How the Court Operates
On arrival, proceed through security at the entrance and make your way to the waiting area. Court lists are displayed on A4 sheets pinned near Court 1, showing your name, courtroom, and listed time. Although matters are given a specific time, you may be required to wait significantly longer depending on the volume of matters listed that day. It is advisable to be prepared to remain at court for most of the day.
Dress neatly and conservatively. Closed shoes are expected. Do not bring restricted items through security.
Getting to the Courthouse
If driving, limited parking is available directly in front of the court. The Mandurah Forum car park is a four-minute walk and provides ample parking. Public transport services — bus routes 597, 600, 604 and 605 — stop on Pinjarra Road, a three-minute walk from the courthouse. Mandurah Railway Station is also accessible by these services, though a walk of approximately 27 minutes from the court.
If your matter involves a possible licence disqualification, do not drive yourself to court.
